Correlations between energy and economy in Brazil show the penetration of capital and energy intensive sectors in the productive structure of the country, bringing about effects on the capital productivity and economic growth. It is suggested a structural change in the biodiesel program so that small producers will have a larger participation and a larger income.

Application of the IPCC Top-Down Methodology to the National Energy Balance permits evaluating carbon emissions in the energy use and transformation activities. An evaluation of these emissions from 1970 to 2004 was carried out here. It was also made a Carbon Balance, since carbon is also conserved, like energy. This report is a result of a partnership between the e&e Organization and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
