A country like Brazil, with a considerable geographic area, relatively rich in natural resources, should treat them with attention from both the economical and the strategic points of view, and cannot be careless regarding energy supply.

In a time of sudden petroleum price variations and valorization of commodities in the international market, it was really opportune the seminar organized by the Clube de Engenharia, under the general coordination of Maria Glicia da Nóbrega Coutinho, on the Brazilian Energy Resources on September 30, 2004.
